Meet the owner, Sam French
Welcome to Lulu + Lo, a boutique color and extensions salon, founded by Twin Cities colorist Sam French. With 18 years of experience in the local hair industry, Sam has worked alongside some of the top stylists and a variety of salon concepts and has garnered a reputation as a highly sought-after colorist in the area. Fast forward to 2021, and she’s pursued her dream of creating her very own bespoke salon dedicated to providing the highest quality of service to clients, and making them look—and feel—like their best selves.
Over the last decade of extensive training, hands-on experience, and education, Sam has come to realize the power of a beautiful color paired with extensions. Consider Lulu + Lo a one-stop destination for luxury hand tied hair extensions and seamless, natural-looking color that amplifies your natural beauty.
Sam gets it, extensions tend to come with a bad rap. But one thing she’s come to learn is that with the right method and approach, extensions can actually result in a lower-maintenance hair regimen, leaving you more confident as you take on each day. She believes that everyone should love styling their hair and, most importantly, feel comfortable while doing so. Her team’s shared passion is rooted in transforming your everyday hair into a set of locks you’ve always dreamed of. Allison Weldon, creative director

Allison first built her career around blondes. After a few years of it, she found herself trying to bring a coastal lived in blonde look to everyone that sat in her chair. From there she built a career on effortless, luxury, beach styled color and soon added in hand tied extensions to tie it all together.
She found with adding in the extensions she was able to enhance her clients color and look all together by adding in the extensions, therefore creating everyone’s favorite saying “ you have to be high maintenance to be low maintenance”. This is her giving a new meaning to the term luxury hair.
Hannah Behr, educator

With five years of dedicated experience in the beauty industry meet Lulu & Lo’s first official educator, Hannah Behr.
Hannah has found her true passion in the artistry of hair extensions and color work that is breezy, and beautiful. As a Mane Luxe certified extension specialist with advanced training, Hannah specializes in hand-tied extension methods that create seamless, natural looking results. Her approach to color is all about versatility- whether you're dreaming of low maintenance, lived-in tones customized looks that fit your lifestyle.
Hannah had the incredible opportunity to learn and work under Sam French, a master colorist and Mane Luxe educator, whose mentorship has shaped her technical expertise and artistic eye. This foundation in advanced color theory and extension techniques allows her to deliver results that exceed expectations while maintaining the health and integrity of your hair. Education is at the heart of what Hannah does. She’s constantly learning, growing, and staying ahead of the latest techniques and trends. Cate Ablard

Cate has been a part of the team since 2023 and has been doing hair since 2022. She completed her Mane Luxe training in 2024 and became a certified Mane Luxe Extension specialist in 2025.
Cate is passionate about creating lived-in, effortless color that makes you feel beautiful without the high-maintenance commitment. She specializes in color that works with your lifestyle - think soft, luminous blondes and rich brunettes with dimensional highlights that grow out gracefully. Whether you're looking for a subtle refresh or a complete transformation, Cate will create a customized look that complements your natural beauty.
When it comes to extensions, Cate’s goal is simple: they should feel and look completely effortless. She take pride in applications that are undetectable and blend seamlessly with your natural hair.
Cate wants you to know you can expect more than just a hair appointment, her chair is a place to relax, unwind, and feel taken care of. She believes education is key to loving your hair long after you leave the salon, so she’ll walk you through personalized care routines and styling tips that work for your unique needs.

Ava Jokinen
studio colorist + extension specialist
Ava joined the team in 2024 and has been doing hair since 2023. She was trained in Mane Luxe extensions in 2025 and is in the process of becoming a certified Mane Luxe extension specialist.
She has always been drawn to hair that feels undone in the best way — effortless, natural and elevated. Ava’s specialty lies in creating blondes, lived-in color, and dimensional reds that blend seamlessly and grow out beautifully. She wants your hair to move with you, to feel soft and natural, like it was meant to be yours.
Ava fell in love with extensions because of how much confidence they gave her — and now, she gets to share that same feeling with her clients! It’s not just about longer or fuller hair; it’s about creating something that feels natural, elevated and uniquely yours. Ava’s goal is always to craft hair that makes you feel confident, effortless and completely yourself.
Cam Glenna

Cam has been doing hair since 2023 and joined our team in 2024. She will be learning Mane Luxe extensions by the end of 2025 and we are so excited to watch her grow her business!
Cam’s passion lies within effortless color that looks amazing when you leave the salon, and in between appointments. Her specialty is creating blondes that shine bright and grow out seamlessly. Her attention to detail is what makes her work stand out. Whether you’re looking for a high impact blonde, a lived-in bronde, or a subtly sun-kissed brunette, Cam will give her all to make it happen.

Charli Jo Stier

Charli Jo is our newest team member and recent cosmetology school graduate who brings fresh energy and a passion for creating soft, natural looks that enhance your natural beauty.
She is starting out at Lulu & Lo assisting Sam and Hannah and is now accepting new color clients. Whether you're looking for subtle highlights or a fresh new shade, she loves helping clients feel confident and beautiful with effortless, wearable styles.
